'Vincent and the Doctor' Knit shawl

US$6.00

“Once upon a time there was a beautiful, interesting yarn. The colors were gorgeous and highly variegated. What could one make with such a specimen?”

This shawl came about from the desire to make something budget conscience (only ONE hank of yarn is needed) and the necessity for an item to make with variegated yarn so that the colors and the pattern will work together. With the large needle size this shawl is done in a flash! The lace stitch was found in the Harmony Guides Lace and Eyelets edition. The name is based on the Dr. Who episode in which he meets Vincent Van Gogh.

Details: Vincent and the Doctor is a rectangular shaped shawl knit biased using short rows. No previous experience knitting short rows is necessary. Almost all stitches are worked ‘twisted’ as in knit through the back loop. This along with the lace pattern and colors give the piece a beautiful fluid ‘movement’.The lace pattern can be challenging at first. If you have any problems or questions please don’t hesitate to contact me!
