Details: I wanted to create a gender neutral hat with texture that showcases high contrast yarn choices. Simple cables and a subtle color change make the hat striking. A touch of whimsy is added with ear flaps and 3 pompoms. Stitches are cast on for the brim and then knit to the crown. Ear flaps are picked up after and knit ending in a long icord. This hat should be worn with negative ease. If you haven’t tried or mastered cabling without a cable needle this hat would be a great start.

Size: 16 (18, 20)“ circumference x 8.5” tall. Sized for child to adult.

Yarn and Needles: approx 200 yds of two colors, size US 3/3.25mm and 4/3.5mm 16” circular needles and US 4/3.5mm DPNs

Gauge: Cable Texture 32 sts x 32 rows = 4 inches
